Yuzu Dojo Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-09-11

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use are a contract between you and the operator of Yuzu Dojo ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Yuzu Dojo app ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

There is no minimum age to use Yuzu Dojo. If you are under the age of consent in your country, you may use Yuzu Dojo only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and that parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for any purchases made through their App Store or Google Play account.

3. Your account

You may use the app without adding an email address. The app creates an internal account to save your progress and subscription access. You can optionally add an email address to sign in on other devices. If you do, you sign in with a one-time passcode and are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure.

4. License

We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own language learning.

5. Subscriptions & billing

  • Subscription required. Yuzu Dojo requires a paid subscription after the one-time trial round.
  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically until canceled. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.
  • Free trial. The length of your free trial is shown by the App Store or Google Play before you confirm the purchase. The trial converts to a paid subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends (App Store) or before renewal (Google Play).
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies.
  • Price changes. Price changes are notified in advance in accordance with the applicable store's rules.
  • Restore purchases. Restoring uses the purchase history of the App Store or Google Play account currently signed in on your device. When the previous app account had no email sign-in, restoring may move subscription access to the app account on the current device. It does not transfer learning progress left on another device.

6. Content & intellectual property

The vocabulary database, example sentences, translations, and audio in the app are our copyrighted works. You may not extract, redistribute, scrape, or compile them into datasets, or use them for any purpose other than your own personal study.

"JLPT" is a trademark of the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES). Yuzu Dojo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by these organizations.

7. Acceptable use

You may not reverse engineer the app, attempt unauthorized access to the service or other users' data, or resell or commercially exploit the app or its content.

8. Disclaimers

We strive for accuracy in all educational content, but the app is provided without warranties of any kind. In particular, we do not guarantee that you will pass any exam.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by mandatory law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your guest data or account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete guest data or Delete account) — note that deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription (see section 5).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.

12. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you live.

13. App store terms

If you obtained the app through the Apple App Store, the minimum terms of Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also apply. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support or handle claims relating to the app; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
